Ya know, it's funny. The idea of a "personal computer". For years, what I saw on my computer screen was mine. All mine. I wrote software and did some high level system administration and eventually became a systems architect working in both software and hardware. When forums first started popping up I had trouble grasping that although I was able to login and type stuff, that it wasn't like instant messaging, it was more like sky-writing. Now my intimate stream of consciousness style messaging skills turned into... a track record. I really had to watch my P's an Q's. It was more like leaving a trail of possible political ammunition that just lied there waiting for the right time to strike.

I took this guy seriously a while back and well... something along the lines of wrestling with a turd applies... I liked his passion for the sport and his will to break out of the box and try things that were known failures in hopes of success. That's the kind of spirit an inventive mind needs... Has a lot of energy and a big ego, that's for sure. Hopefully someday he'll be able to channel it into something productive...

Anyway, I'm glad there's safeguards in place to squelch this type of behavior and a big thanks to the moderators for stepping up, although the thread subscription email I've been receiving was quite amusing...

I love coffee.

BTW- I know someone who actually worked with an electronics manufacturer and designed a 75 volt 170 amp esc... but that's a conversation for another thread.

Honestly, that's the way FE is for the most part. It's even more apparent when you get out and race with these guys. Even just for fun. Everybody knows everybody and if they don't they will by the end of the day.

I mentioned somehwere else. We all need to be careful how we repond. Sometimes the simplest response sounds like we're being total buttheads. Next thing you know we're typing ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Could be TP has fallen pray to having a chip on his shoulder coupled with an inability to express himself through text. Not everybody can do it.

The interent is a great tool but it's like a hammer......you have to think about how you swing that thing. Ever hit a nail on an angle? HA Or miss the head and git yer thumb!

Maybe now we can follow a thread without wading thru 19 pages of d;ck swinging and learn from other experience if yo want to brag build , document it and put it in the build section not talk about to the point you bore and annoy people

There is nothing wrong with this thread. A lot of people have been trying to be non-confrontational with him for a long time, and now we are able to get some of that out. He shouldn't be able to read any of this anyway, he's been banned. He ruined multiple threads with his incomprehenseble rambling and arguing, and we have managed to contain his energy to this one thread.

It could be said that this is a negative thread, but it sure doesn't feel like it. I was starting to grow tired of this forum as it started to feel like every time I posted I was going to have to argue with someone's backward logic and ignorant thoughts. I have no problem with other opinions, but it grows tiring when every thread turns into one person's pathetic attempt to destroys your credibility
This thread gives me back the feeling of comminity, and reminds me that OSE is full of people that are here because they love FE and just want to share their experience with others.
X-package was a wet blanket to the spirit of this site and it doesn't surpise me that people are celebrating the fact that he's gone.

I have to agree with you 100% on your point. For me it was more of thinking I had made a bad choice in joining this forum, every thread you read everybody was arguing, questioning skill, etc... Even further I thought I had made a bad choice of getting into FE boats, everybody seemed like grumpy know-it alls. But after reading (and posting) some threads here (After TP ban) I can see a real sense of community coming back. With him around everybody just seemed on edge. I'm looking forward to posting more here now and learning lots about the world of FE boating. I'm not a newbie to RC by any means, with 25 years of racing (not backyard bashing) under my belt I would like to think I will be a quick learn in the FE boat world. Thanks all

Steven, I know I sound like a broken record but that needs to be handled by a higher power than the moderators.

There once was a guy on another board that promised IRS audits after a particularly heated disagreement. Authorities were contacted. That threat turned out to be a real problem for him. Death threats is an even bigger deal.

Normally thats how its done. Ban them and move on. This guy keeps signing back up(at this point about 6 or so times) and sending private messages to many different people. Not only that he's also threatened several lives. He's gotten what he deserved.
