Motor upgrade??

Am wondering is a small motor upgrade might give me a bit more oomph in my Skidaddle TOO. Have already upgraded prop. If possible want to avoid expense of brushless which means, I think, needing a new ESC.

post a link to the boat or some specs. You will find brushless upgrades for smaller hulls are just as inexpensive as brushed now. However you are correct about the esc. You would need a new one. Hope you get your info

I would go with the sp 600 as it has replaceable brushes a high matinence item in these motors

How about a Electrify Speed 600 about the same price as the Titan. Guess it might depends on what voltage you are running.

Always wondered myself about Titan vs Speed? I put a Speed in my Rio and am quite happy 18-20 mph ( estimate)

Standard 7.2 volt mi battery.

Question is--will any of these suggestions help with speed??

My opinion is the Speed 600 would be better, I have not run a Titan but have read of issues, hard to quantify as they have several winds/turns so I may be dishing them unfairly..

S600 a solid choice and proven good price too.

I am about to order a couple S600 motors.

The output shaft is 3.175mm--the coupler(s) I have are for 3mm--do you think the shaft will fit??

The speed difference you may get with another 550 size motor will be so minimal it will barely be noticed.................could be like 1-3 mph difference.

You should go brushless..............you'll end up there anyways................we all do!

Run it on two 6 cell nimh packs in series if that is what you have available for batts.

Got to agree the increase if you stay brushed is small, essentially the cost of the upgrade is the esc, look at it as an investment for future boats upgrades. Brushless really is the way to go.

My Rio remains brushed as the hull really will not take high speeds so keep it a "guests" use boat rather than put more money into a limited hull I bought a new boat with further upgrade potential.
