That would be sweet. I'm just surprised that no boat ESC even has this yet. This technology is over a year old. Maybe Castle and others have it in the works. Maybe not.

It's features like this that will likely start setting new speed records as most have hit their limits.
Interesting but wouldn't that have to use a sensored motor rather than the sensorless that most of us use?
They should be able to make it work with sensor-less as it's an algorithm, plus they shuld be able to utilize the back EMF.
Dynamic Timing Advance, what it is, how it works:
Dynamic Timing Advance is sophisticated programming changes of the timing of the motor throughout the power curve. It's more sophisticated than fixed timing in that traditional fixed timing advance as too much timing advance at low RPM will cause excessive heat. This algorithm would be applied gradually.
The dynamic timing is based on the motors RPM. The ESC would gradually applies timing and starts doing so at the user-set timing level at the maximum throttle. This ensures that the user has the desired advance timing in the power band without the high-heat generating effects of high timing at low RPM. This gradual application of timing provides smoother acceleration while allowing high lever of motor timing where it's most needed and where it's most efficient.
Sounds like a great idea.
But there is still the same problem that we are facing now. We still need to find the highest & most efficient timing advance for each individual setup at full throttle.
Testing, testing, testing, is still the only way to find that setting.

True for new setups, but for people that are more experts and already know their setting and motors requirements and are after breaking speed records, this is what they need to hit the sweet spot when everything else has already been optimized. For the rest of us it's not as critical but nice to have.
