what kind of speeds can a delta force sniper 45 handle?

sorry man, never owned a mono nor did i have any relevant knowledge on monos. so i take it they generate more drag? its about all i know about monos. anyways i never assumed they were trying to show off their money, i simply thought it was the speed bug. but i getcha!

Oh must be late... sorry didn't mean to come accross like that... but these snipers were built with gas motors in mind and need the big boys to push them.... just don't want to see you cut yourself short.... like RIP says the 40" df's can be pushed much more financially frugal... but then again... Rip has had a df 40as well as all the other DF's and look what he is building..... ha ha .... a SNIPER!!!!

screw the smaller, im just guna save some cash and get me a top notch motor. because whats going to happen is im going to get bored of the speed after some time (i know myself) and wana upgrade. so can you point me out? what are your recommendations?

go with the 2028..like jason and i said previosly...its claimed to hit 10hp...most hp for the dollar and it will push the sniper real fast....get yourself a good quality 240 amp esc and go to town

I agree here... 2028 and with the new Castle Hydra esc coming out would work great too... as it should obviously be a good match for this motor....

nope not enough motor there..it might get you into the low-mid fifties..you can get the big castle2028 for a lower price then the 1527 anyway

swordfish will do it but you will have to be real careful with prop choices with the 2028...just start with an x452-x455 and prop up from there checking temps regularly

were you referring to a sniper or a df40 with the 1527?

Here's my $.02:

-The 2028 is a pretty low kv. If I were to run that motor I would want to run it on 12s. Some people run the lower RPMs with a huge prop but I struggle to keep the wheels on the ground with big props so I have to have RPMs to go fast. Doesn't mean you do, but its what I have found works for me. Make a wake on here built a hydro with that motor and it seems to turn a prather s270? (I think thats what it was) prettty well. It looks to be a powerful motor from what I've seen so far though, and if you have the power to push it I bet it would be sick in a big mono.

-The 5692 I think would work quite well, but I dont know if it wil go 70. If it will turn a s245 I bet it can, but most likely on a limited basis (high cell count, ect.) and sport running would be a little slower... Like I said I would like to hit 70 with my mono, but I have never used a 5692 before, and making predictions about motors I have never ran is a little bit foolish. Either way, if you went high 50's to low 60's with a sniper I bet you would have an absolute blast. 60 is absolutely nuts when you can turn ovals without lifting your finger off of the trigger.

-The 2215 I think would do well also. I really don't know the limits of this motor because like I said I think I was running out of battery. I dont think I ever got close to running out of motor. I wouldn't be surpised if this motor took you to 70 without problem, but obviously in the spirit of overkill, the 2230 would be delicious. In my opinion the 2230 would be the best motor to use if money is not an option. I am not even considering Lehner motors because I simply dont have teh experience with them to give an opinion.

if he ran on 10s with the 2028 his unloaded rpms are 28,860 still under the max even though close he will have to have a large prop like 60mm or so

I'm not going to recomend running a 30,000RPM motor above that. Who knws what would happen. If it were mine I would find out though. This coming from a guy who runs a 6900kv castle on 4s...might not wanna follow in my footsteps...
