Which BL system do I need?

    Hi, im new here!

    I have a Kyosho Sunstorm 1000, It's a 42" abs hull.
Which im thinking of convert into electric instead of the gxr28mr motor.

Which brushless motor, esc and battery do I need to get about the same power as the gxr28mr? (Its doing about 25 knots)

Just which kind of motor should I be looking for? (Im lost in the djungle of brushless motors

    Which brand?
    How many KV?
    etc?

    Please help me!

      Thanks for the answer! =)
It looks like a really good motor and esc, but I think its a little above my head. :)
My boat is only doing like 29mph now, so 50 is too fast for me.
I understand if its hard to say how fast it will go but around 30 is what im looking for.
And maybe the price will go down a bit too then. :)

      Have any else suggestions?

Not in a 42" hull , you will kill that set up . that set up is more suited for a 25-30" hull

Okey, is there something like the one you first said but like one level down?

I dont know what to look for, the higher KV the better? no?
And how to match the motor with a esc...

Theres just numbers everywhere. haha :P

Kv is how you work out your RPM , so if you have a motor that is 1000 kv & your running a 6s setup which is 22.2 VOLTS you times 22.2volts X 1000 kv = 22,200 rpm

As for the motor the 5692 is what you need for that big hull , you can prop down or run less rpm to run at slower speeds .. you could run a smaller motor but it will work harder & draw very high AMPs which will kill ESCs .

Okey, its a little clearer now, thanks for the explanation.
Maybe im gonna stick with my gxr28mr, cause upgrading to BL costs more than the whole boat did (With postage to Sweden) :P

But thank you very much for all your help

If you are looking for inexpensive, the KB45 is the most affordable larger motor out there..............it does run hotter than most, but has seen some success when not over taxed. That motor is too high of a kv, go with this one on 6s............
