I tried 142km/h(85mph?) last fall with a pair of Leopard 4092 motors, X447L/R props, 180A ESCs and 4x 6S5000mAh Turnigy lipos. Will try 150km/h with a pair of ABC 1816 props when the lake melts.

With Neu1527 you have sufficient reasons to expect higher speeds than I did.

Laddie, what experience do you have with FE boats? And what is your budget for subject boat?

budget on motor and esc & batteries is about $1000 -$1500

but I really would like not like to run more then 6s -8s batteries unless that the only way to go fast.

Unfortunately higher voltage is pretty much the only way to go fast, I mean really fast. Look how the German nuts do their HPRs, start from 6S, then 8S~10S feeding Lehner 2250s for insane speeds.

would the Lehner 2250s be faster then the neu 1527 or about the same??
I see the Lehner 2250s showw to have less amp draw??

How can you know which motor has more hp is there a math type way to know each motor output hp?

Hp is very important for speed but not the only factor. Actually when speed reaches 80mph stability becomes a big big problem. IMO 2x 1527 delivers more than enough hp for a 115 to go beyond it's stability limit. Plus the service and ease of purchase in the states.
