    please look cat/tunnel owners

    this is my lso boat trying to finish up, i bought it 3/4 the way finished from shockerman 80 a few years ago,

    - should i remove this air dam thingy?
    -it will cause lift i need or hinder the performance?

      I would ask shockerman what its purpose is.

      On my toysport Jolly the maker of the hull created a wedge that helps keep it from
      porpoising when at higher speeds! So speak with the man first!

        Its well clear of the water so isn't doing anything hydrodynamically, looks too small to be of much use aerodynamically.

        My guess is that's its just a spacer, a way to use a standard length strut on a cat built with a deep tunnel to enhance its rough water ability.

        Check with Shockerman though.

          You run your stuffing box through there! It is not a lifting surface at all since it is inside and above the sponsons.

            thats what i think a spacer you can see where the 4 holes for the octura strut was i pulled it off right before the pic, i am going with different hardware now so i didnt know if there was a higher purpose or just an aid for mounting the hardware
