Lots of experiance out there for newbies to follow, CC 1717's 6s lipos now we need good reliable ESC's, thinking of CC's hydra ice 240's, new product, no history with it, what esc has proven to you guys to be good in that size!!! ???

Not quite right, just close. A number of us have been using the ICE controllers in boats for the last year or two with excellent results. I have two ICE100s and an ICE200, running them for about a year with zero problems. One is a P Sport Hydro with a Neu1 1521/1.5D pulling 180 amps - hardly a weak setup. Others seem to have similar results. Because the ICE-LV versions are rated for 8S, I'd feel safe running them on 6S. The HydraICE controllers are not identical but they are similar, so we can hope they work as well....thinking of CC's hydra ice 240's, new product, no history with it...
OTOH, I have had no unexpected problems with the current Hydra240LVs......
