Don't forget, it can happen to you

Thats why you gotta charger it in a container or underwatch or store lipos in a general cooler area....
Basically take care of your stuff!

As I just posted on there, I had a fire while flying a few weeks ago. They can catch fire any time, really--charging, in use, or just sitting around. I always store and transport them in a LiPo-safe fireproof bag. I charge them on our glass dining table which is fireproof obviously. In the field I just keep an eye on them during charging, and try to use the most neutral surface I can find.

"There is no doubt that I am to blame for what happened by first charging a battery that was clearly puffed and giving me a hard time and second leaving the area".

My friend keeps his lipos in a sealed ammo box.I think its a good idea.Or a safe for storing them at home.

Battery caught on fire hill charging...yes.Originally posted by SwampNut View PostYou had *what* happen? A battery caught fire while using an improper charger? If so, then I'd say it was an idiotic moment.
Improper charger...no.
I did have it in a liposack and the seams split letting the battery fly out under combustion. Even though we sometimes take all precautions bad things still can happen, don't think you or anyone are immune to Lipo fires. If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!

The orginal thought was for everyone just to take notice, not to call people stupid ect......I have been to races and I know that battery charging can be chaotic at best. I have seen experts make mistakes. Just take 2 and lower the chance of a fire.
thanks,
Steve
