I think it is because of the large flat ride pad which makes them handle kinda bad.
The steps on the triton are not in contact with the water when the boat is moving. The hull has a single wet'd ride pad but it does HAVE steps. There for people will get on your case about running the boat in mono even thought the ride pad is one wet'd surface.
Prop was something in the neighborhood of an X450/3 or something like that...
Amps were less than it takes to pop a Hydra 240... In otherwords, the hydra 240 has survived all season with that setup, so it's less than 240amps continuous... don't have any exact numbers...

The 1521 1.5 d should not even come close to 200 amps. It @ max eff. is about 100 amps. 240 would provide a good cushion or head room for this motor. 240 are all I run. it just makes it nice to be to have evrything wired the same....

Clear, so my idea to use a Feigao8XL (knowing it cannot be compared to a Neu) geared down (I have spur gear to make 1:1.25, 1:1.5, 1:1.75 ratio), 18 cell on a 120amp ESC is not ridicilous isn't it? Certainly not as fast but...
