to get them to storage level you need a charger that can discharge them down... I seem to use my chargers to discharge as much as charge....lol... I charge all my lipos up and bring way more then I ever end up running to the water...... then I need to bring them down to storage level instead of fully charged when they are sitting around...dischargers are always gonna be needed....Originally posted by steveo View Posti did not know my charger had a discharge option found it by mistake, ummm do lipos really need to be discharged i thought that went away with nimh batts?

You don't really need to discharge them like NiMh to get a full charge again, when using them and you hit the LVC point, they are already discharged (at a safe voltage because of the LVC point) they are ready to use again. Now if you don't use them for a while, then read this post:Originally posted by steveo View Posti did not know my charger had a discharge option found it by mistake, ummm do lipos really need to be discharged i thought that went away with nimh batts?

There is a difference between "discharging" lipos and "storing" lipos. You DO NOT want to store lipos fully discharged or fully charged-- "store" mode keeps something like 60% charge level in them (or maybe its 40%...)

Same thing here! Well, I would usually use all of them during the summer, but now that it's colder I end up not using like 1 or 2 pairs. I always discharge them when I get home, even though it takes a while. And I just got more lipos in the mail yesterday...Originally posted by JMSCARD View Postto get them to storage level you need a charger that can discharge them down...
