Best lipo plugs

Are bullet plugs still the best plugs to use on lipos, I know the Deans are not said to be as good but what about the Deans XT60 plugs. Or are the bullet plugs still the best option, Its just that ive seen a number of Turnigy lipos come fitted with the Deans XT60 plugs & not to be confused with the old flat pin Deans plugs. Martin.

I was running deans in all of my land, air and water RC's...until someone gave me the thumbsdown smilie icon on one of my pics hahahhaha

So now I'm running 5.5 bullets....as the turnigy 2S 5000mah 40C batteries come preinstalled with them

i just started using EC5 connectors(5mm) seems this is gonna be the new standard.They also come in EC3 version/3mm....

Some people will tell you 5.5 others will say EC5, in the end you have to decide for yourself. I prefer the 5.5 bullets since there's less connections to make especially when running in series.

You do have to be careful though, and you should make the male plug wire a bit shorter than the female plug for added safety.

It all depends on what the amperage draw out of your setup the pack will see. You dont want XT60's (thats a 60 amp continous rating) if you are pulling 100 amps out of the packs. Common sense tells you to move up in size. You can go up to 8mm (200 amp) bullets. Limiting yourself to a particular design is not smart. Its something out of our uninformed RC past. We have many options for todays choices. Get what works the best.

I should have said this is for some artr type boats that use any thing from 2s up to max 4s with motors from around 4500kv - 2200kv depending on what model it is with speeds of 35-40mph. So not pushing things at all.

If competition racing or trying to break a world speed record is on your mind then go with the big bullets,no brainer here.But if sport/leisure runs like me go with something milder.Thats why i went with the EC5`s,plus their blue plastic housing gives you peace of mind againts shorts,something less to worry $$ about........so its up to what are your needs.....good luck,...Albert
