    14 volt Lipo config ?

What is the best way to run 14.8 volts for speed and decent temps?
    2 x 7.4's in series
    1 x 14.8 volts
    2 x 14.8 volts in parallel

All depends on motor size and current draw

    \What is the setup?

Generally, the 4s2p setup. More mah, will allow the motor to pull the power from your packs more efficiently.

Running 2 - 14.8 in parallel is the best way. It will give you the best speed, best runtime, and easier on the packs. The only disadvantage is the extra weight and space.

Running 1 - 14.8 is the same as running 2 - 7.4 in series as far as speed, runtime, and pack stress. The two 7.4 in series may have slightly more resistance due to the extra wire, but nothing that would probably matter to the average sport boater.

          Thanks guys.

Kevin, are all your batteries the same c rating and amps when you run 14.8 in parallel?
I'm amazed how you manage to stuff all those lipos and wires in the FE30.
Are you using 10g wires to hook the 7.4's in series?
Is 4s2p two 7.4's in series?

          cheers

When I run 4s2p the packs are always the same brand, c-rating, and mah.
4s2p is two 14.8 packs wired in parallel. 4s1p is one 14.8 pack or two 7.4 packs wired in series.

              Thanks Kevin.
If i use the same c and amps will i have problems if the lipos are different brands.
              I dont mean 3 different brands....lol
If i was King we would only have one choice...haha

I don't know if mixing brands is okay, I'm sure someone else will. I only connect packs that are the same brand, mah, c-rating, bought at the same time, and with roughly the same number of runs on them. This is probably being overly careful but that's how I do it.

                    Thats great Kevin!
The 4s1p with 2 batteries is the one that always confused me...lol
                    To me its 4s2p..haha
I'm going to do your 4s2p this weekend.I actually have the exact same lipos,
and now i know how to make the connections.
a picture really does speak a thousand words.Plus i'm crap at typing.

                    Cheers matey!

                      yikes

stay away from mixing brands bud.. the cells will definately be different and bad news for you.you must keep them identical specs as far as i have seen sofar.Otherwise you may have current draw, resistance,"acutal" capacity issues too.U can do it however its risky.....you may end up in flames as I have seen before ouch.
