What are others using? I thought there were decent resin kits out there for 1/8 scale. Or have all the scale boats I have drooled over been custom build wood models?Originally posted by sailr View PostNow if I could find a GOOD resin 1/8th Scale Allison Engine! I don't want to build the wooden one! Anyone?
Edit: What about the scale resin motor for $55 at Fastelectrics.com Is it any good?
Also, is dennis hoover still making show engines? Or are these just show engines and not racing covers?

I'll check out the Fast Electrics one. I knew I'd seen one somewhere. Maybe that's it. Of course probably $20-30 shipping from Australia! Oh well.
Dennis Hoover? Maybe he's making the one that is $282? I don't need one that bad!Mini Cat Racing USA

Attached is pic and the link that I found it from.
sorry for the false hope!
I can't believe someone doesn't make one of these.Attached Files

sailr was looking for an 1/8 scale motor that wasn't wood. A decent resin cast version. Do you know of any?Originally posted by JimClark View PostPlenty of that kind of motor available in 1/8th just no one is running scale 1/16th
I agree that the 1/16 is a limited class. I really like mine though, nice and cheap to build and run, loads of fun. You have proven that they can be very scale looking.
