    Lehner ESC type 1895 programing

    I have a Lehner 1895 micro ESC

that I believe has lost it's trigger position programing.

I do not have programing instructions.

Can anyone help with a link or the instructions
    I need?

I've tried various searches to no avail.

The LMT/Warrior series esc are very basic speedos and super simple to program. If you look on the back side of it (side opposite of the FET's) there should be 2 jumpers or sets of pins if the jumper has been lost. The one next to the caps is for the BEC function (limited to 12 cells nimh max) and the one on the back side of the main board is the programing. Remove the programing one (black colored) and connect everything (motor/battery) Heres a hint. Program it with a 2S or 3S pack or 12 or less nimh cells. That way you can leave the RED jumper (BEC Function) and get the speedo power right from your main pack.

Make sure your Tx has the throttle limits wide open. Programing is as simple as connect the batts, esc will beep, pull back on the trigger and you get another or 2 (I cant remember exactly) let the trigger go back to the center position. Wait for the next beep. Reconnect the prog. jumper with batts connected. Done.

I remember finding the intructions on the LMT web site but its a bit hard to locate. Doesnt have any lipo cutoff settings tho the speedo is well built. Most of the older ones only work on 2 pole motors. Still a very decent speedo and tough to kill as all of the components are quality items.

The only online copy I can find is off the BK web site and its in German! I have a copy of the 2 pdf files I downloaded a couple years ago if that will help. I did find an interesting quote from a couple well know FE characters! My how things have changed lately.

      John

During one of my many talks with Hans Lehner, he said that the diff between 15 and 30 deg timing is that:

      a) the rpms go up 2-3 %

      b) the efficiency goes down 2-3% units

If one goes down in timing, the eff goes up and the rpms go down.

At 0 deg timing the motor will not move.

As the eff of a motor under load will wary with the load and with the Voltage,
I must agree with Jörg that it is the most important thing to find the right combination of motor and Voltage and load (prop and hull and ...). That is why some guys have 200 LMT motors...

        John,
Thank you very much for these instructions.

The small problem I have is the boat is in SC and I
am currently in PA (leaving soon for SC)

I do not remember seeng these pins/jumpers

I do have a picture of the top of the ESC
        if it helps?

I will PM you to see if you can send me the PDF files.

        Thanks again for the help!

If you look at the picture on the top of the second page it shows the jumpers.

John, thanks again for sticking with me on this.
Your link was far better than the ones I found.

I do not remember seeing the jumpers but your link
              told me why

"Next to the positive poled wire of the accumulator situated at your BK-Controller there is a little jumper. To
uncover the jumper it is recommended to cut off the heat shrink tube around the jumper with a little sharp scissor"

Below is what my LMT ESC looks like and the picture from the link.
I can't make out the jumpers in the picture
but having my controller in front of me might make it easier?

I'm a moroon. You clearly stated early its the newer "Micro". But there still is a jumper. Its located on the side opposite that the FET cooling plate is on. There should be a small section of heat shrink cut out where you can access the jumper.

No John...I'm the MOron for not
                  bringing the boat home with
                  me

We left our travel trailer in SC, the boat's inside of it.
                  Dumb-me!!!

Thanks again, you sure have helped with this conundrum.
