Need help with my first set up

Just put my boat in the water for the 1st time 29.5in hull v bottom old boat from fine design 9xl swordfish 120. Octora prop?? Forgot size off hand. Boat cavetated a lot and just wanted to just go in circles to the rt. It also therew the prop right off. Any suggestions ??

As for the cavatation,adjust your strut to the prop.And for the prop throwing,use a new lock nut for your new prop.The plastic in the nut wears faster than what people think.Octura makes a lock nut with no plastic in it that might be a better long lasting nut.My ul-1 cavateted alot with a 38mm prop,so I adjusted the strut and it got better.As for the right turning,I cant help you there.My Drifter did the same exact thing.Where are you in MO?Thats where Im at too.

Did you check that your radio was properly sending commands to your rudder and was the rudder linkage true and secured.

sounds like the strut is set way too high and the prop is 'walking'. Lower your strut. Post pics so we can look at your setup.

Prop could be way too small as well.

29" mono with 9XL (I guess running 4S???) I would say 43mm (1.7") prop (1.4 pitch) should be the minimum, prop shaft parallel to keel
