    Foward and reverse ESC?

Ran across this on ebay. Does anyone know if this is a reversing esc?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-Model-30A-Bru...item3effa4c87c

If not, are there any esc that have reverse in the lower amp range? like below 50a or so? Or a link to an old thread?

    Thank you all, Brian

Dont think that one is, however look into the hobbywing Seaking ESC's...they have reverse if I remember right and come in all sizes from around 30amps or less up to 180amps or more I think.

Thank you, will look at that. Thinking about putting reverse on my scale offshore mono. hmm, was going to use flex cables, that would be bad I guess. Ehh, would work fine as long as reverse is real low power.

yeah, I saw the "reversable" in the description and I figured it was programmable in the setup, not from the transmitter. Thought I would ask.

I snapped a .150 flex in about a half second when I had the prop spinning the wrong way. Be careful if using reverse.

Yup just read through it more closely again...it does say it runs forward and reverse

No it doesn't. It says forward OR reverse.

So, if I had to guess, you can reverse the direction of rotation by programming or ESC setup. NOT Reverse from the transmitter for backing up a boat.

Just wondering if anyone had used one and knew for sure.

I have one on a small 2040 motor on one of my mini boats. It does not have reverse, you can just change direction of rotation. For reverse, I use either the Seakings, car ESCs or there are some with reverse in the Robbe Roxxy line.

ALL the Seakings ESC parameters can be programmed by either the TX or the card but the card is much more easily. As for the reverse, once programmed you have to do what they called "double click" to go reverse, which is push the trigger back (in reverse position until the motor stops, let go the trigger and push it back again to activate the reverse rotation. You should do the second click slowly because you normally have a short range of motion in reverse. I found that the reverse operation is not reliable because it doesn't work everytime, so you may want to use it only when you really need to.

Castle Hydras have reverse, but they dont make a small one. Unless you find a older barracuda 80 around.

                      I use this one

But you really need this card for it.

They also have this one and a 90A version too, but I've not tried either of them . They are water cooled though,

Hi model also have reversing ESCs on this page.
