I'm was planning on running 5s on the 580 7l. I pick'd up the motor used and got a great deal on it. Just have to find the right motor mount for this hog, any suggestions?

I've had the laminations from the rotor come off on my first 580l. According to Steven it has the same return rate as the normal 540's. Don't be afraid of it, but definitely don't abuse it. I was pushing a 10lb mono with a x447 without a problem and little heat. You can check out southriverrcboats, or Mr. Zicha for some nice mounts. If you want to go cheap, you can just shim a standard 540 mount to clear the water jacket. If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!

Hello Jerry, do you have 4S batteries yet?
IMHO go for 6S , the Hobbywing should work fine and a 540XL 1500kV will be perfect,
Have fun with this amazing hull, here is the hardware for mine

I'm leaning towards the 11xl & running 6s on this boat and saving the 580 for the Osprey I may or may not get.Originally posted by Alfa Spirit View PostHello Jerry, do you have 4S batteries yet?

A 11xl on 6s is just about 35K on the rpm, hopefully that works.Originally posted by Alfa Spirit View PostA catamaran like high RPM so choose the motor with high RPM for the GENESIS

I ordered the one from Kintec a few hours ago and it already says shipped,,,
Alfa my motor says its a 2075Kv not a 1500Kv, but looks identical as my Faigeo 9xL,,,as for my batts i have 2x3s 1500mah 20-30c and 2x2s 5000mah 30c do you think the 3s's would work better but they'r so small...

The 1500's are too small. It will yield you only 30 amp loads in 1p.If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!

1500 mAh is a low capacity, Last batteries I bought are Turnigy 5800mAh 25/35C, they are FANTASTIC!!
If you need a very high quality motor for a good price think Kontronik Kira 650-15 1500kV,

The 2x2s in series is what you want for a 2075kv motor. That's about 30K unloaded RPM. Not sure if I asked you this before, but what part of NC are you in?!?Originally posted by HYDROJERRY View PostI ordered the one from Kintec a few hours ago and it already says shipped,,,
