Is this too hot a setup??

So I ran a setup that worked fantastic for speed and handling in my 36" H&M Drifter L cat...

It was with the Nemesis 9xl, a S&B prather 230, and 4s2p 9600mah.....

Boat was running and handling very nicely.....no gps but would estimate all over 50mph.....

came in with juice left after 5 or 6 minutes of hard running and temps were..

105 lipos, 127 9xl, and 147 for the hydra which I noticed had a cap that had brown residue and very slightly imploded.... take it a cap let go....

So my question is does this sound like its WAY to much or should I just throw a turnigy 180 in her and keep running it this way? it ran great.... in fact the best she has handled and the speed was just where I want it..... boat has a fancy paint job and don't want to high speed of blowovers.....

It calculates to be using around 170 amps and 2300 watts, 23000 rpm @ 50 mph. Surprised the motor was not hotter than 127F.

Thanks for the info reddy.... any idea what the biggest prop I can put on this boat would be and still be fairly reasonable...? this boat seems to like a big prop and I want to run 4s instead of 5s as I have a bunch of 4s packs that work well in this hull for size wise....

The 220 prop calculates approximately 106 amps 1500 watts 24000 rpm @ 46mph.

225 prop: approximately 136 amps 1900 watts 23200 rpm @48 mph.

What was your exact runtime and how much mAh did you put back into your cells after the run?

Are you sure it was a 230 prop? It does seem too big for that setup and that kind of runtime.

Did you take the motors temp at the endbell?

I took the motor temp at the endbell.... has a ose water jacket on it.... wasn't run like I was racing at wasn't flogged from a standstill much at all.... just fast sport running..... I will check the prop size when I get home.... and I haven't recharged the lipos.... they are sitting on my workbench waiting for it so I will let you know how much they take later.... I am pretty darn sure it was the 230 and not my 220... I will triple check when I get home... boy she ran strong though....LOL....

I don't know my exact runtime... I would estimate between 5-7mins.... and it was 4s2p with (2) 4800mah 4s 25c packs.....
