I have a Drifter L from H&M.The hull is 37"long.I have a Neu 1515/1/Y but it only does 45mph on the gps.And its run on 6s.I really expected to run at least 60mph.A tech a Castle said to run a Neu 2230/1/Y motor on 10s with a 240HV.It also is run with a x445 prop too.I really cant afford the motor and esc right now.Any suggestions for an alternative that would still be reliable and cool running? Please help!

You are trying to turn way to much rpm and getting poor results. The 1515 1y motor is much better suited for 4s boats. In theory you should be doing about 70mph, unfortunately that motor on 6s is running very inefficiently at 45mph.Originally posted by LarrysDrifter View PostI have a Drifter L from H&M.The hull is 37"long.I have a Neu 1515/1/Y but it only does 45mph on the gps.And its run on 6s.I really expected to run at least 60mph.A tech a Castle said to run a Neu 2230/1/Y motor on 10s with a 240HV.It also is run with a x445 prop too. I have a funny feeling the castle tech never used or tested a Drifter L. A 2230 is way to much for that boat. A 1527 1.5d on 6s is far better.Steven Vaccaro

Thanks Steven. That 2230 seemed a bit overboard.Ill try your suggestion soon as the funds permit. Will the 1527 1.5 d get my Drifter to around 70mph?Is a 240HV sufficient for this motor?
