Would you guys be interested in something like whats in the attached picture? The picture is only a prototype cat bracket. There are some things that will be changed on the bracket. Like the curved lower corner. This bracket can also be done longer for a mono.

Also the finished product would have about 3/8" more of space between the leading edge of the rudder and strut.Steven Vaccaro

I would like for an inline rudder to have some kind of break away feature for making it easy to remove the prop and shaft after each run?ReddyWatts fleet photo

The bottom right screw will be a brass break away screw and the rudder will tilt upwards.Originally posted by ReddyWatts View PostI would like for an inline rudder to have some kind of break away feature for making it easy to remove the prop and shaft after each run?Steven Vaccaro

Nice thing about a long rudder is that it can be cut down. A short one cant be made longer. :DOriginally posted by Eyekandyboats View Posti like it.

Also a long rudder will help a cat that has a tendency to spin out.Steven Vaccaro

i guess i said it wrong
the water pick up is to low to cut it short to my liking.

I have not seen a oval setup that would require a rudder shorter than where the pickup is. The strut can also be moved down to get closer to the water outlet. But I would caution that the best handling boats I have seen have had long rudders.
Please post pictures of your setups for us to see. How far below the prop is the tip of the rudder?Steven Vaccaro

i like to have the rudder just below the edge pf the prop. not very deep at all my cat boat does hook but only if you crank it right over.
will this come as a package deal like your mono speed master combo ?

Good question. This has been done before. I'm not onto something new. Just a bit different. It "should" turn better in both left and right directions.Originally posted by whiplash View PostThis may be a stupid question, but On this type of setup would the rudder effect the propwash, which in turn effects turning? ThanksSteven Vaccaro
