    Degrease flexshaft

What's a good degreaser to clean a flexshaft to prep for soldering? Tried brake cleaner and it didn't phase it...

Acetone or Toluene are decent degreasers. If you have a local wally their cheap can of carb cleaner has both components.

I use this stuff for flex shafts and NOTHING ELSE...

Like Jeff said clean it with a solvent
rough it up a little (sand paper)
        clean again
put a few drops of the acid included with the solder
heat up the cable and your on your way...

        Later
