Most reliable ESC for 10s

Hi Crew,

Just researching a setup for the 1/8scale AVL that is awaiting skinning, interested to hear peoples experiences with 10s capable 120 + amp HV Esc's

Reliability, Switching rate and Throttle Curve are mainly what im interested in.

Shultze no question have a 32.200 and its powered a 3060 without water cooling.

I have at least one of all of these.... they are all good controllers...smoked my turnigy monster but it was from a motor short... don't think it had anything to do with the controller itself.... actually didn't totally smoke it either... cracked a fet and I've sent it out to try and have a member repair it:) we will see how it goes...

Didn't mention castle as I know of too many that have gone bang on the high cell counts, just not interested in them at all.

Brod, what model kontronic was it?

Shultze I do like but they are not the 100% bulletproof ESC that people assume they are, I know someone who has 3 40.160's and a couple of them have been back to shultze a few times. one had issues just a few weeks ago on a medium sized plett. Popped a cap, after replacing the cap - still no go, back to shultze... I just wonder if the cost of shipping it back and the repair cost would end up making it one real expensive ESC

The turnigy monster looks to be ok for the money, will be interesting to see if it can be repaired

I myself have come to the conclusion that with the better hv esc's... like all the ones you have listed... are all good esc's, problem is they are all made for big $ setups with High amp loads and cell counts and that it doesn't take much for a BIG problem to occur as its alot of "juice" to be moving around.... I like all of them.... but if you are using any of these then be prepared to have an expensive day "in an instant"..... a couple weekends ago my scorpion outrunner shorted and took out the HV(turnigy monster) esc and the lipos with it.... with the cost of the smoked motor it was a $650 day.... (only reason it was this cheap was cause they were rhino lipos) good way to put a damper on your weekend...

I fully understand what you are saying, just trying to balance risk vs cost so if it does go poof then I don't have as much invested into it.

Sunk a shovel at speedruns once, lost it for 2 years, at the time was about 6-700 loss.

also a very good controller, made at the same place as the modelregler stuffs ( the esc in pretty much every european high speed boat up to 50" (apart from Shultze)

Where do you purchase a controller like a shultze or YGE in the USA? Since the YGE is a 200hvnavy, is it basically an Etti 200hv controller? Mike

Sadly the YGE 200HV Navy is out of production, no longer being sold.
