Is it worth it?

I have a widowmaker22, so far I have had to repalce the esc(swordfish120), have octura props, trim tabs, relocated the batt, replaced the hatch twice(sob sinks in 10 secs). The problem is the hull. Runing 3c1p can't handle it(even 2c1p and the thing is a hassle to control) fun but sucks to be so dang un-steerable( I have modded the sevo,push rod to a better, more effective location). Are stepped hulls just garbage?
I think the motor, radio, sevo, hardware is ok. Think I should just abort the hull and go with a non stepped. What hull would be good to go with?

Ive not seen one of these run in person, so I cannot comment on that exact hull, but Ive run quite a few great stepped hulls in both FE and gas boats.

As for your hatch, are you securing it w/ tape. I believe this boat has a sub hatch, but Id still at least tape the back of the main hatch. I do that on my sub hatch boats and have never lost anything. You could also put a large enough piece of foam on the inside of the hatch incase it does detatch, it will not sink. I have that on ALL my boats as a precaution.

What Voltage is the ESC rated at? I know its specified as a 2S boat, just want to be sure your not going to let out the magic smoke running it on 3S.

I would have thought you would have put foam on the hatch after losing the first one

yep first time you loose a hatch you add foam to all the others.
i havent seen one personal either but sounds like its designed to run 2s and 3s is just to much for it.
it may not sound like a big jump going from 2-3s but if you brought a ul-1 thats designed for 4s you cant run it on 6s and expect it to work reliably.
