Picked up and airplane from someone yesterday and saw this boat on the shelf. A deal was made and I brought it home. He said it was an Aquacraft VS1. Even had the sticker sheet for it. Well after some research it’s not a VS1, according to the manual which I found in the box later it’s a GP Marine Top Speed. I’ve seen info on the Top Speed 2 and 3 but nothing on the 1. Not even a picture. Anyways I mounted my TFL scale to it and it balances out real well with a 3 cell near the front of hatch. Only thing I’ve really. Noticed is the hull is slightly warped. When I set it on my flat table it rocks a little from corner to corner. Hull is plastic/ABS from what I can tell. May try some heat and clamps. If anyone has any info on this hull, good or bad please let me know. It’s extremely light so it should fly on 3s. Not going to use the radio box, since everything is waterproof now a days. I posted some pics of my other boats too. Thanks!!!

Nice score! The GP Marine Top Speed is pretty rare to come across, that’s why there’s not much info out there compared to the 2 and 3. The ABS hulls do tend to warp a bit over time, so your idea with gentle heat + clamps should help straighten it. On 3s with that lightweight build it should really move — just keep an eye on temps since the older designs weren’t always made with today’s power in mind. Excited to see how it runs once you get it on the water!Originally posted by Nsmustang55ol View PostPicked up and airplane from someone yesterday and saw this boat on the shelf. I tried some heat the other day. But it went back to where it started. Probably not enough. My motor mount comes in today so I’ll tackle the heat thing again later.
