What's a cool use of a 3rd channel in an electric build?

Adjustable trim is the coolest idea i've ever heard of!!

A guy over here runs a nitro mono with adjustable tabs, with a heli radio he has mixing setup so the tabs come down in the corners and up in the straights... its pretty bad ass

Sweet! I am gonna wait and see how yours looks, to see if it looks like something I can handle. Would that work for keeping my boat from turning into an airplane at top speed? Ya know...the blow-over... Or...what about a long worm gear (or other setup) with a weight for on the fly CG changes?

I was thinking of installing turnfins on my cat that drop down in the turns and come up in the straits, I will see how well my 4 prop Conquest does with thrusts differential first....An air brake or a downforce scoop would be a good one.

Not that a cat usually need TF's but the idea is valid for a rigger or hydro.

i would love to build a 36" tunnel and have the third channel tilt the leg
would be just like the 1/1 tunnels,air out down the straights then tuck the lower down for wot turns

Skeged struts seem to be the hot ticket on a cat, but there isnt anything quality in 3/16. I seen a cat with turn fins and was impressed.

The Futaba 3PK has the 3rd channel tilt already programmed so you can mix it into steering. It would be fun to try it out.

What about using the 3rd channel to switch power to a smaller backup "recovery" battery in case the mains hit the LVC wall?

yes that would be sweet to try, i was thinking along the lines of simply by hitting the switch it would move the lower leg EG from positive 1/2 degree to negative 1/2 degree

Man, all these are great ideas, I need more channels...ha. A back to shore battery idea sounds like a top runner for where I use my boat most . On the Etti 150 opto, once it kicks into LVC can you still "putt putt" into shore?

Pricision in perfection sell Servo adjustable stingers for larger hulls, down near the bottome of the page in RCDrives you can see them, not clearly in the black one but the top one shows the off centre cam used to change the angle of the stinger on the fly, Paul Firmin the owner of PiP and Nimrif models where they are sold told me that the design has been stolen by aquacraft for their big (V24?) gas batboat.

I talked about active canards on ose as well as adjustable trim on rumrunners years ago. 3rd channel trim is old news Im talking about an autonomous active canard system with an xyz sensor.And the appropriate code that considers the parameters: Throttle position,speed etc....
