Hey Folks, could we all be less confrontational ?, There are no Stupid questions here.we are all looking for answers, otherwise we would be all Geniuses working for NASA , BOEING, or GENTEC etcOriginally posted by Fluid View PostThread? It's mostly a diatribe by a newbie/troll - 2/3rds of the posts are by the OP, he repeatedly strung 3 posts together without even getting a reply. Since he clearly wants to be confrontational here, perhaps he should go to his "expert" nitro buddy in OK for all his future FE information. Clearly he knows a lot more about motors than we FE folks do.
Hey, maybe you can even use some car stereo components to build it. Engineering student indeed...ya got a lot to learn buckwheat.
Advice to the rest of the group:Don't bother arguing with fools - they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
.Do you know what the biggest problem with the world is?
That the Smartest people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence.::tt2

Since he clearly wants to be confrontational here, perhaps he should go to his "expert" nitro buddy in OK for all his future FE information. Clearly he knows a lot more about motors than we FE folks do.Some of us go through great lengths to bait someone into an argument . They may even go racial with it. Im an african american u just dont call me buckwheat or a fool. In your quest to disrepect me (over boats I might add) shows your true character. Good luck with that. You might also not try to take every word someone says as something to quote . I was only kidding. One thing you said was accurate: The appropriate mosfets may be shared by some of the car amps you see today. Especially the class d stuff over 4000 watts. Maybe you need to go back to school fluid you didn't know with all the (useful) knowledge you have that a speaker and a bldc are both motors driven by amps. Lol see you learn something everyday lol.Hey, maybe you can even use some car stereo components to build it. Engineering student indeed...ya got a lot to learn buckwheat.

Just saw the SAW report . Randy is running almost 90 in his s hydro. I told you 60 was slow. You dont have to be an "expert" to see that. Im looking for my boat to run between 70 and 80 mph. Jon Sowden's scale is pushing 80 also. The point I was trying to make earlier was that i was undershooting the nitro equivalent by about 1000 watts.Id like a motor around 4500 watts@25k. The screammer is starting to look good but Mr Joye said its not legal in sanction scale events so... I dont know. I brought a screamer and a kb . When i run the boat ill post a video. Steve you got a 6mm/187 coupler? I already got the 8mm for the screamer.I plan on running the kb @ 10 s and the screamer @ 12s .I need a water jacket for the KB too;do you have one?Last edited by Xfactor; 03-28-2010, 09:23 AM.

This is one of my canidates for the esc and cooling plate. I see this cooling plate design on alot of the boat esc's out there .On an esc made this way, with stacked fet power blocks, to me is all wrong. All the blocks have to radiate heat through the next block until finally its not a block, but the cooling plate, and lastly dissipate the heat through the heatsink. If i brought this esc, I'd desolder the fet blocks from each other.Lengthen the headers, and install cooling plates in between each fet block; then finish off with the last plate and heatsink.

Its impossible to compare a sport boat that we want to run for an extended amount of time, to a boat like Randy's racing for a few seconds.Originally posted by Xfactor View PostJust saw the SAW report .
