I have a couple of outrunner motors I plan to use. They both state 3-4 cells. But I was wondering if I can use 2 cells on them?

What are the motors? The motor voltage rating is usualy intended to be for the maximum volt rating and mostly related to either rpm limitations/ materials of construction or due to motor efficiency. As to whether 2S is alright more info is needed.
