For big buck I like my 2230 1Y 40.160 10S2P 10,000Mah total X462 prop. There is lots of ways to skin it!

Like I mentioned in the PM, all my whips are nitro or gas, I do not have any converted to electric. I am going off what I know about the gas ones and what i know about 10S electric power systems. I know very well what power, strut, trun fin, and prop settings need to be for a given speed and course conditions. Just replace the gas motor with an electric power system and take into account the weight and prop change and Bam, you have a eWhip.

Very nice carbon fiber cowling on that G1 !!! I like the natural wood finish look, also - - good stuff !!!

I run the Neu 2230 1y on 10s 2p and a 6516 prop. Ive run props as big as the 6719 but the boat is too fast and violent to oval race that way. The 2220 1.5y is a good choice as well. I don't have any experiance with that motor though. Randy that 462 prop is a little on the small side for a 2230 motor. If your going to just sport run then the smaller motors are fine but if you want to race against the gas guys then you need a motor that will swing the big props. The reason I say this is because the gas boats create large wakes and big holes and a larger prop will just deal with this better. Not to say a smaller prop wont work though.

Here in Australia we are only allowed to use 10S 1P battery combinations with a maximum of 1500 grams in weight, so thats basically hyperion 35c 5500 packs. Would this change your decision on motor selection and if so, what would you change motor to? I was thinking 2215/2y.

Depends, is this for a gas sport hydro or a rigger? How big is the boat?

That motor was my thought for a wooden version gas whiplash, 44 1/2 inches long.

Since space is at a minimum on the whip I would go for the 2220 motor for speed and the screamer if money is a concern and speeds are not.
