....um, sarcasm? Something has to be getting lost in translation. I didn't type my earlier response with any attitude. I didn't mean to at least.

What does "one eyed" mean? Sounds like something my wife might call me.

I think Schulze esc will take more abuse than any of them. As well they should for the price. We've had MGM's in the club. 2006 season we had one running 1/8 scale. Ran really well.

No prob i could have brought a Schulze 40-160 of him but it was way too big for this hull "one eyed" i guess we all have our bad days and i might have had one, so lets just leave it to that, i will ask him to fit the Hyperion motor and i will not run the KB as i can see that it's not poular and i guess i should take the good advice given to me by experienced boaters

LOL heavy *!***!***!***!** man i guess thats the way of making someone welcome on this forum, frst i didn't really say anything wrong about castle esc but i can if you like i had two of them go up in smoke in my planes one running with a Neu motor the other with a Kontronik motor, i lost a couple of very expensive planes because of it ,so i would rather stay away from components that i have trouble with,this is kind of funny to me the owner of that boat did say that this forum was rather one eyed and i'm starting to believe it and i guess you know what to do with your advice

the info he gave me on the setup when that vid was taken is KB45 1600 Kv,etti 150 Amp esc,Hyperion 5500 mAh 35c 6s,ABC H5 prop

this is why I stopped posting on your thread because you ask for advice and then turn around and tell we dont know what we are doing. if your burning up stuff in planes and boats YOU dont know what your doing, so maybe you should listen to others.
I have a hydra 120 that is 3 YEARS OLD and it has survived tons of abuse.

i think he means one eyed as in neu motors and castle esc,s there is heaps of guys on here that run neither, i don't
i have fiegaos,scorpion, a mgm and the rest are Chinese esc,s
its funny to spend $800 on a esc but wont get rid of the well known crap kb motor
2 esc,s are already dead,when your third one goes bang which is more than likley you may realize you have a bad motor not esc,s.
but as you know so much and wont listen to they advice of others then tuff luck

I wouldn't run my precious esc's with that junk kb45 motor anymore, I've fried two of my etti 150's because of that motor even I've setup correctly.

Ok i can see that they are not popular motors,and i wish i hadn't mentioned that this boat had one in it
i will try the Hyperion outrunner that i have for now, the new Scorpion inrunners look very promising might have to try one as soon as they come on the market

Those do look impressive. Has anybody run those yet? I wonder if Hyperion will have a version of those. I would like to try one of the larger Tenshock motors too.

I had serious issues with Castle years ago too. Plug them in and the smoke comes out on the bench. Multiple units failed in one weekend of racing. UGH!

OH and all those barbecued Hackers too. Crispy critters we used to call those.

Hi those inrunners are not out at this moment ,The 29mm and 36mm will be the first ones released, followed by the 20mm, 40mm, 45mm and 50mm diameters.The IS-43xx series motors have a 43mm diameter stator in them. The wall thickness of the outer can is 1mm, so the actual outside diameter of the motors is 45mm. and no Hyperion will not have versions of those motors here are a few pictures of the 45 mm motors

The data I have seen says the motors up to 40mm are 4 pole, the large ones up to 50mm are 8 pole.

I will say I have followed this site for a long time before ever joining... I've always read your threads and tried to take in as much as I can... I wouldn't hardly know how to plug in the leads to the motors without all you guys.... From all my experiences reading the threads, i have never noticed any "real" favortism towards any one company/manufact/supplier/vendor ... Mostly I have noticed that if you try and pay attention you can learn from others mistakes/triumphs, and if you try and ask questions being a newb, like me, generally you will get alot of nice people trying to help steer you in the right direction so you don't have to go through the same "growing" pains as they once did... I can say that though I am still a novice by comparison to most of you, you have certainley helped me keep most of my investments from going up in smoke... And I myself appreciate each and everyone of you.... Well that is most everyone of you:)

Hyperion outrunner seem to be the same design has scorpion outrunner, but I've tried running the scorpion setup using 6s in my triton and it run pretty well, esc just slightly warm

Hi Thanks for the info i'm in no hurry so i might wait and get the new scorpion inrunner i should be able to use the same cooling can that i have now
