1527 1y ina 1/8 hydro?

The Pro boat was made to run slow on gas. I watched a pro boat that was made in to a nitro boat and it ran good at the slower speeds and when it got some air under it from the wind at top end there was nothing to fix when it hit the water. If you make this in to a FE you better add some glass if you want it to last. That is why I got a 1/8 kit not a pro boat. Not sure but I was told you can't run pro poats in scale class as they are not scale. just my 2 cents. like I said when that pro boat hit the water there was nothing left. I am going to run mine on 8s and a scorpin motor.

Not saying it want fly. just saying when it hit the water there was nothing left. I looked at Randys post on his 1/8 and he did some glass work to his.

thanks guys, I'm not sure why the criticism on wanting more feed back, but oh well... i think i can get her to sit at high speeds, i know it can be done w/ some time and money.. ill probably go with a 2215, just didn't want to fork out the cash... as for the lil screemer , im not ready to put money down on a motor that hasn't been on the market long, plus i don't, or should say haven't ran outrunners in my boats..yet only my planes, and edf's.. anyways, if you knew of my other boat threads you would see that i ALWAYS reinforce my hulls, bulk heads, and cf to the max!!! i dont have the time to race, but love having my knees knock so i build all my boats for "sport" only... thank you everyone for your input! and as for throwing it away... not gonna happen.

Wolf, just as a final advice... stick with motors with 1000kv or lower, that is a lot already...

i have a 1527 1y and tons of 4's packs30-50c rated . i was wondering if this motor on 8s 2p would get a 1/8 proboat up and going? if so what kinda amp draw should i exspect and speeds?

I have experance with that motor and the pro boat. The pro boat is a big boat and pulls a lot of amps launching. It is big and heavy. you will rip up ESC unless you run it like a SAW boat and then I am not sure what would happen. I use V9 props and start small. I have still ate a lot of ESC testing.
I have had a 1527 1.5Y in my 16 pound 1973 Miss Bud thast has 4 pounds of lead in it to stay on the water. The 1527 1.5Y was a rocket in that boat in oval trim. but it did not eat the ESC.
I have ran the 1527 1Y on 5S2P in a 36 inch War eagle and got third at the Nats. If I had the 6S2P packs to run it, it would have been a blast. Doug T admited that it wes the best setup for a 6S class (Q) Hydro.
