New props for a 55 cat

Save yourself a lot of money and put a single Zenoah back in it. They run ok with that setup. Don't spend any more than that on it. It looks pretty nice but handles like @%#@*&@X#@!!
My brother has dumped a lot of money modifying his Zenoah to make it fast, and it is, but it flips over very easily. It's a straight line boat, in good water. It can roll over from it's own wake.

Sell the bare hull on Ebay. They bring Bank, and buy a 44" Conquest Cat from Aeromarine. Put in your twin 580's with some Stinger drives, and have a boat that runs fast, looks super, and handles too!
Trust me--bail on the Blackjack. The hull is too tall, and way to narrow! If it were 4-6" wider, it might be a boat. I guess I should say how I really feel!

Im sure that will be the logical thing to do but i actually really like this hull its pretty solid and it has a lot less freeboard than a regular blackjack. I think I am going to go with 2 little screamers like Randy suggested ,and run it on 10 or 12s. I just have to wait until after vacation next month.

OK, I am sure I will get some flack for even posting this, but wondering about a cheap setup like this:

It is a (3648) 36mm x 51mm long outrunner, 1450kv. Rated at 1600 watts, up to 6s. I have one in my mean machine, torquey! I am running a 47mm 3 blade and it doesn't phase it. I have only run on 4s so far, need to get batteries for 5s or 6s setup. My setup.

If you are looking for a cheap setup, I wonder about two of these on a 6s setup. It would not be a speed demon, but if you are looking for some cheaper scale speed running, it might work for now until you decide to put in better electronics.

The only reason I think about this, is two stock zenoahs would push your boat along. Heck, two homelites would have pushed it along. I think the old stock zenoahs and homelites all produced under 2hp. So maybe a outrunner like this would also push it along. Maybe not, but wanted to throw it out there.

That is a big boat. What does that sucker weigh in at?

I've got a BJ55 hull I would like to sell on ebay but I'm not sure I would get that much and shipping could be big..
I would love to get a 40 some inch Cat and do brushless!

I would buy your Blackjack 55 if it were cheap enough, but it sure wouldn't be an electric. It would be a built Zenoah, but the boat still wouldn't handle. Hey you cant always go GREEN, and I don't drive an Electric Car either ('68 Big Block Camaro)!

what do you think is a good price for a BJ55 hull?

What's the condition of the hull, and does it have the hardware? What do you need for it? As you can tell from my posts, I'm not that hot on the hull. I like the looks, but it sure is a letdown in handling. I can't figure out why you can make a BJ26 handle but the 55" is a pig. It must be the high CG because of the heavy tall motor coupled with the relatively narrow hull. Has anyone found a way to make it turn? I too thought of making one into a FE, with twins and big lipo's low in the hull. However, I haven't seen any motors that would truly make it fast that you can buy for a reasonably amount of money, and I haven't wanted the risk. As I said before, there are too many great hulls that handle better and need less motor.
