I've seen one installed on a long competition fishing pole (about 10m). The mounts are in the box... Could not see through the dirty water anyway, and infrared is not that useful looking for non animated objects. If your pond is well looked after, you could have a chance... otherwise... use it for fishing :)

I've seen similar results. A friend of mine went diving at a lake that we vacation at and run some rc boats.
