well I made some progress with this boat, its getting better but it still needs some work, at this speed it was very stable I didnt have any problems with it wanting to blow over.

Dude I was so bummed when I opened the hatch and didnt see 50+ mph! seriously this boat is VERY VERY stable at these speedsOriginally posted by Piranha2 View PostJeepers, 49.7?
Take the floatation out (for weight savings) and I want to see 50mph!!!!:D
I am wondering if the 8000ft altitude that this lake is at (thin air) if the hydros are having difficulties packing air under the hull to lift it more. (dont know) I have yet to see any of the clubs hydros blow over.

Do not remove the floatation!! You may have something there about the thin air at altitude....move the CG back 1/2" at a time and see how that works. You could also change the angle of the canard for a tad more lift up front.

I have a lowrance GPS and compared it to an E trex. The e trex has been 5 mph higher in the boats. Take them in the car and they are right on. Figure that one. Holding WOT for 3 seconds.Last edited by ReddyWatts; 07-29-2007, 09:42 PM.ReddyWatts fleet photo

Dont worry I was NOT planing on removing the flotation if the flotation slowed it down that much then it can stay at the slower speed!!!!:DOriginally posted by Fluid View PostDo not remove the floatation!! yeah maybe I hit 50mph but until I see the numbers on the gps, I want documented proof:D LOL!
I do know for a fact that at the NHRA MILE HIGH NATIONALS, in Golden Co. that when the Top Fuel cars come up to this race, they have to overdrive the blowers to make the same power that they do in Las Vegas because of the altitude at the track, and it got me thinking about my hydros, and how the thin air would affect them.Last edited by Jeepers; 07-29-2007, 10:25 PM.
