Jim, I really feel that might be adding to the problem. Its such a blunt face that if it caught the water in the front, it would be over really quick! I am going to make sharp front blocks for mine I think, and I am hoping that I can get it to work where the boat will plane from a standing start. I hate not being able to restart after a boat falls off plane! Mike

Make sure your coupler is tight on cable... it may be slipping. I would also make sure the drive dog is not slipping...retighten the allen screw if it has one.

Everything is tight. Boat runs like a scalded ape once it's on plane.

Could be Mike! Good idea. I'm going to do the same. Funny thing is Hugh's is on plane instantly. Granted, the area isn't as big as mine but wouldn't think an additional 1/6" would make that much difference.

What speed controll are you using? Is it one that might have the softstart programed into it so it doesn't allow it to snap up on plane?

Using a stock UL-1 ESC. Not programmable to my knowledge. Good thought
though! We are running LSH SPEC Hydro. All using the UL-1 motor on 4S.

Jim try a prop with some tongue on it. A 642 once detougned doesn't have alot of blade area.
Remember no two boats are the same, too many variables, especially with a woody.
I would start from scratch with the setup and put some blade on her!

Jim I also agree with Doug. Try something with a little more blade surface. Maybe a little more diameter but less pitch......x445 or an un-modded x642.

Doug knows his stuff. I hear R/C drag racers use a prop with more tongue to jump out of the hole quicker. I bet maybe a standerd x442 would work well. The UL-1 motor likes to spin fast.

Be sure to add extra caps to your esc also.

Good suggestion since he is running spec power. Also a little cup wouldn't hurt either.

Edit: Then again that may produce the lift that could be hurting him?

It will probably be a few weeks before I can get her back on the water. Also have some repairs to the hull since I hit Ray R last weekend!
