I'm just excited that Thunder Tiger is making a BL boat.
not gonna get one, not shopping at the moment...but still, the more companies that go this direction, the better we'll be for it IMO.

ABSOLUTELY! Couldn't agree more. BUT, they need to make stuff that is killer for a reasonable price rather than mediocre. It wouldn't have cost TT more than another $30 to use a better motor and speed controller! I know, I import all the time.

If a newbie spends $600+ for a boat and then it doesn't run as good as the other guys at the pond, they will get discouraged! From the video, it looks slower than the SV27, UL-1, BJ26, etc. and they are almost 1/2 the price. Yeah, they're smaller, but....

I cannot imagine what my 44-inch Sniper would do on 4S1P and 60 amps!!!

I looked at the manual as well. You have to pull the strut to remove and lube the shaft. Weird.

I will say that I have seen the nitro version of this hull (on display not running) and it is nicely done. And yes, it looks a lot like a Sniper.
          Don't get me started

It has that same crappy square drive setup? OK, I pretty well know who is making the boat for them and they are paying about $150-$175 for them.

Yeah, the price point definitely needs massaging, especially for that performance, but still we haven't heard any first hand reports.
What do the Nitro guys pay for a rtr boat that big?

When are New Bright and Radio Shack gonna throw brushless motors in their stuff?

                This is TT nitro version:

                List price is $699.00

I am not sure how many other similar sized RTR nitro boats are out there.

After writing to ThunderTiger a few times it seems that the BL version will be out soon. BUT Thunder Tiger USA has not ordered any. So dont look for them to be the in USA for a Looooong time. That just stinks!

Ful retail is $680. I just received info from Thunder Tiger, if all goes right I should have them at $499 with a 4s lipo pack and charger.
If you can eventually make that happen.... I'm in & back in
