hv maxx motor issues!!! locked rotor

it's a 31" challenger. offshore deep vee. the motor makes it fly but not for long. like i said i ordered a fieago 14xl and hydra120 last night


i'll be taking a speed cut but the "trouble free" running will be worth it

i plan on running 20 ib 4200's.

i'll be using 2 7 cell packs and on 6 cell pack

Twenty cells on the 14XL will work very well - and I would not say that it will be slower than it was with the toy car motor. That will depend on how you prop the boat.

Some folks just can't understand that for the most part, car motors don't work well in today's boats. I've known Wilmer for years and he does good things with the Novak system....but remember he is a sponsored Novak race driver. He runs very small and lightweight boats. And they are race boats, not sport boats. That means he runs them for a limited time to control the heat. Put the same motor in a 28" mono and run it until the pack dumps and it will come in smoking hot and damaged. Just because someone uses a certain motor/ESC in a race boat to set records does not mean it is appropriate for the average sport boater.

That was my point also. I look @ everything from a sport boaters point of view. Thats why I warned him off the car systems. Around here Mr Twaits and the guys in his club run all 05 car motors in there N-1 boats. I tryed that in my little cracker box and it worked fine for under 4 minutes. After my third motor and over 70 dollars I gave up on it for sport use. Had I not found the old ose forum I would have prolly quit all together. I had no clue what I needed to run or how to prop untill I ran across all you guys last Septemper. Now look @ me. I can burn up the expensive stuff with the best of them :D..lol

i have a question about the fast electric calculator. on a 48mm prop my setup should reach the sixties. I KNOW THIS IS EXXAGERATED but do you think i entered everything in right. On a 51mm prop the speeds were in the 70's.

how big of a pop can i do?

i'm thinkin this motor can spin something huge
