You really don't have to oil the wire for every run. Maybe if you were running many times in a day you may want to pull it out and oil or grease the wire and stub once anyway. Always when you are done for the day pull it out and dry the shaft off and coat with oil. Nice to hear of another Iowa boater.Not many of us around. n.h.schmidt

make a autoluber.
just get a little bottle on top of the stuffing tube and fill it with oil and it will be gravity fed when ever you need oil.
