Toni Put a coumpter fan on it and cool the motor with air, I did it with my P Hydro and got a Second at the Nats with that setup.
Actually I'm just playing around with that setup- kinda' just experimenting to see what the Scorp's all about. It did run much cooler exposed on the VS-1. Not spec-approved for now so I'll need to stick with spec motor{s} for any racing apps. Nice fan setup/mount tho' - maybe Wilmer can hook me up with one !

True in the AC UL-1 but depending on the exact chemical strutcture This is for the Pollyester properties What we all think the hulls are made of.

Detox, we run the SV27 package in our club to keep the class Spec to all the racers. Doug and I tested a pickle with UL-1 vs a pickle with SV27 and there was a significant speed advantage with the UL-1 package.
Trini, The Pickle is a smaller/lighter hull than the UL-1 so it should be faster on smooth water using the UL package, but is it faster than my UL-1 in race water conditions? I modified the sponsons (less AOA) of my UL-1 which really seamed to help make hull more stable in race water. See you all soon.
Off topic... no GPS but using the m445 and new sponson mods the UL-1 was easily running over 55 mph. I once GPS'd my stock UL-1 @ 50.2 mph using Grim Racer L40 X 57/3 prop
My Ul-1 with an 8xl was a total flop. The hull in stock form will not handle the speed or acceleration. Chine walk was ridiculous. The extra weight from the xl can was too much to keep it cormering flat and it wanted to hop through the turns no matter what i did. IMO the stock setup works best with the UL-1. The aoa however, I think is way too aggressive for any kind of chop. I haven't built or driven a vacu-pickle, but I've seen many vids. It looks to handle quite well. I'm sure it will hold up better durability-wise than the UL-1 by far!
