    They have 2 for under 25.00 for the full kit of esc and motor. one listed is 3800KV and the other is 3000KV, the mention of the 700KV is what I used in a crawler 1/10th scale

    Well My goal is to keep these toys cheap to run and overall cost under 70.00 each without radio. I have some 11.1V 3300 25C lipos that I can power the high dollar system with. something like this

    We have had good luck with the mystery esc's and I have used a 770KV outrunner from mystery for a rock crawler the motor worked fine for years. So at this price its worth giving it a try

    left the stock brass bushing at the stator end, lubed it and drilled out the shaft surface in the front and put some slotted k&s in there.

    Mine came with a brass bushing on the outlet side and a rubber grommet on the drive side. so you bushed the drive side? what did you do at the outlet side?

    The jet is actually fairly well designed. one end has a brass bushing and the other is suspended in a rubber grommet, both ends will be a ceramic bearing in a day or 2. also have some small hop up parts coming. I thinking the boat in stock form will do about 20 MPH, after mods Im thinking near 40 is possible

    I tore it down after the run and the entire assembly is hot melt glued together which makes it very easy to strip out. phase II on the way

    well got to the water a bit today, my wife is driving the boat. it literally will turn in a 12" circle. The power is a tad anemic a little low on power but wew know how to fix that.

    It comes with a high wind brushed 380 motor and funky servo and esc. The 9.6V nicad battery does not power it for long and as we know the nicads drop of rather quickly. the initial punch was able to launch the boat 4' into the air off of the waves.

    Sorry for the bad pics, the light was getting very poor

    That is a thought, I like the outrunners and many now have integral cooling fans on the rear of the case. WIth this little boat RPM is more important than torque according to the guys who have modified them the best results seem to be in the 3200 to 4000KV range.

    i would suggest a 400 df outrunner like used in the renegade rigger. Un-cooled it rips on 3s. 2600 kv or 3300. Great little motors!

    you've likely seen it already...the boat in Quicksilver's avatar is the one I remember.

    There are links to his vids and his original build in the first few posts. I learned a ton from his experiments and have always had plans to build a river basher of my own someday since following his threads.

    Okay, you guys are getting me thinking about jet boats and watching every youtube NQD video I can find...
    RCU had a great jetboat thread started by Quicksilver a couple years back. He did a jet conversion to a Traxxas Villain that was really inspiring. One innovation he did that I thought was brilliant was a thick strip of aluminum(?) along the keel both to support his own intake, and allow him to bash it like a fricken Rock-Crawler over rocks, docks, logs or whatever. He had vids of it launching off of a half sunken dock that were straight-up incredible...I'll see if i can find it.
