I ordered a pair of 2s 5000 20c/30 and a pair of 3s 2650 20c/30 from Hobby City on 9-22-09 and received them today, 9-29-09. The 3s are for a buddy that does planes. When I received them, it came with a pack of 5 pairs of Deans connectors marked free! They are a little different though by having a more pronounced ridge for better grip I would assume. Question>>>>> I want to try 5s and use one of my 2s 5000 in series with 2 of the 3s in parallel. Both are 20c/30 but the Mah on the parallel set would be 5300 MaH, Would this be a problem but it will only be for a short time, just to get the 35 MPH I want to see, maybe 100 feet twice?

Watch out for the HK dean style connector, the plastic is harder and brittle and can melt during soldering making for a poor connection when they are plugged in. I know I have sold hundreds of them that I got when I ordered several hundred servos from HK.
not sure about the battery part LOLan RC rock crawler lost in a sea of boat parts.........

I ran a 4500 3S with a 5000 2S for a short test run and had no problems. I would imagine its not the best thing to do, but it worked fine.
Out of curiosity, what are you trying to get to 35mph using 5S?

Dom, Battery placement does not seem to be an issue as I have moved them 2 inches, as far as the prop depth, I'm stuck, I put the stuffing tube too low and have since reamed out the holes for the outdrive as far as I can go, maybe. It rides nice now and is a lot of fun to drive, unflipable, just spins out. Turn fins would be nice as you have to get this piece of junk on plane before you give it the beans but I don't want the drag. Any ideas on some plastic props would be welcome. I have been looking at the Graupner ones but don"t know how the numbers relate?

Yeah, I was looking at those but they are both out of stock. I think I'll try my LHS for the plastic stuff and see if they can get them. They are mainly airplane dudes so boat stuff is a little harder and it is always "let me check and I will get back to you" which they do.

This is deffo a cool thread.
A 700 Torque monster
Feed it 5S max but prop up to a 6 series like a 642 or similar.
Now before you get all carried away and make this some SAW beast, make sure that it is sort of waterproof(ish) and bouyant so that if it does some water gymnastics you will at least get the good bits back.
Go hard and go safely.
See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

bj stuff
I'll try, Karfrik, but I am computer challenged, I know I can do one but I will try to do more, stand by. Nope, all I had was a picture of the inside and it was too big, no pics of the transom but it is standard bj26 stuff, 20 for the outdrive, 9 for the stuffing tube with liner, 11 for the flex and 3 for the propshaft. Sorry. Brian
I forgot to mention in my original post that the turnigy cells came with 10 gauge wire as opposed to my last load of flightmax that came with 12 gauge. It is hard enough to solder 12 gauge to the Deans and I'm not looking forward to doing the 10 gauge. They did come with some kind of bullet connector but not sure what it's called, feels nice and tight but in the garbage it goes! Oh wait, one more thing. Can I do a 2s 5000 in series with a 3s 2650 or should I parallel 2 3s to get roughly the same MaH and then series that with the 2s 5000? trying to save weight and making a parallel wye
