Please understand that I'm not trying to be negative here, but consider the plight of the hull builders who've put time and effort into a good design only to have it splashed. H&M, MHZ, and even Randy and Brian have danced with this. Knowing that this is a real possibility may often inhibit the best of intentions from such designer/builders. The DF and HOR boats are a good example of this. Just a thought.
That is the point and I am proud to be a new owner of a Brian designed and built shovel dark horse
Again, a great thread for airing out our predictions & desires. So here's a wish I've had on my mind for a long time; maybe not any further "outside the box" than some others here : I want training in the area of driving. A Driver's Seminar/School. While my boats are seemingly fast and competative, the only wins I've ever achieved came with guys like Jay, Randy, Dan Chase, Darin, and Dave {Newland} at my shoulder on the driver's stand. Unrealistic maybe, but no more so than some other expectations aired here.

Douggie
Douggie, I'm way jazzed at your upcoming new arrival ! I'm sure Jan will be glad to answer any setup questions you'll have ; without him my hydros would be flippin' & floppin'

I think we need stronger hulls....................
One thing makes me very happy : a boat is a boat, and it still looks like a boat.
And it seems we want it that way !!!
( When I think of , for example, depron park/indoorflyers. Those ugly flat fusilages, flat wings.
They even can fly forwards, "brake"and then fly BACKWARDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )
A big issue for designers/builders is "fashion". Over here in Europe there is a strong "need" to
"have the latest model". Once a model is "old fashion" they will sell almost none anymore.
So the risks are high.

True, I ran into that in the jeep industry, I made several XJ skidplate designs only to have them stolen by a good christian from the midwest. Gotta love screwing people over to be forgiven on Sunday
an RC rock crawler lost in a sea of boat parts.........
I go a steo further, internal cooled outrunners... it's possible, but a little difficult to do.
I think those already exist... I talked to the guy who was doing it... can't remember his name, but I think he's on here somewhere....
In my opinion, and this is coming from a strictly racing standpoint, I'd like to see the number of voltage levels reduced... It's all very redundant and unnecessary...
I think we need to concentrate on three levels of power...
1) 4S Spec Classes
2) 4S Open Classes
3) up to 10S OPEN
That would provide all of the racing that one would ever need, at every price point... Then, instead of running upteen classes... we could get to running more ROUNDS instead... 4 or 5 rounds, instead of the three we do now... Then a DNF or a DNS doesn't take you out for the day. You could travel to races with fewer boats, and still get just as much time on the water, etc...
From an all-around boating standpoint, I'd REALLY like to see a more reliable high-voltage controller out there... We can run our spec and Nue 4S stuff all day long... now we need something for 6S to 10S...

Darin, good call on the voltage classes... but I'd like to see:
2s
4s
and 8s
flavor for all needs for speed.
I believe you are right as far as the cooled outrunner, I've heard it too (hens the comment)...
maybe we can see it soon.

Gerwin, that is one reason I purchased a Brian/Raptor designed and built shovel hull. I love the old designs and do not have a clue how to build or set it up. I will be looking for advise.
Darin , I agree with your concept of reducing the number of FE classes & upping the number of rounds. Maybe the future can hold some promise in that direction since Al Waters is running for NAMBA president. He definitely has his ear tuned to FE, and his close association with the Grims, who also strongly support FE , could bring FE racing to a more updated level.

I would like to see 3s power. You racers are missing the "boat" on that. I run 3s in my delta 26 and its a rocket with one cheap pack. No need to parallel.

I understand what you are saying. But in reference to Delta Force, they just filled a niche that Seaducer wouldn't or couldn't fill. Seaducer was asked many times to make a good looking hatch for their hulls. As far as I know they never did.
