    my new h&m ss.21

Hey all, I wanted to share a few pics of my latest build. Its a Hydro and Marine Supersport .21, brushless. I am starting out running my trusty scorpion hk3026 1600kv rigger motor to see how it does, just for fun. The powerplant that will be in it to race is a 1515 1y, on 4s. I have the option to run 6s on the scorpion and 4s on the neu, since hull has such an open inside, placement is extremely easy. I cut and rebuilt the original cowl, by removing the turbine exhaust and glassed it over and glassed a few key areas inside. Motor Mount is OSE 540 mount, which is soo easy to fit a neu and my scorpion outrunner. I just finished the last coat of clear literally this morning..so it has a bit of drying to do before its hits the water. I applied pin striping but on the transom for some reason, the paint that I had more than 3 coats worth pulled off....strange considering I used duplicolor lacqueor. (aut paint) I will figure that out later.
anyhow...the sponson design and stance of this hydro is very similar to the whiplash, but a little more aggressive in sponson design..so should be a competitive boat...has not even hit the water yet, but was pretty eager to share it with my fellow FE boaters on OSE first...
hope you can take a minute to look it over. I added a pic of the inside of my hull. Neu 1515 1y, ose cooling jacket. Turnigy 90a esc. (still going after abuse on a 6s setup). more to come....I am having some paint problems...the first coat seems to be soft...I discovered this when I bolted on the hardware....letting it dry in a heated shop for a week or two before it hits the water...other than that She is about ready for the first run soon. Attaching cooling lines, rudder linkage and easy stuff is all thats left.

Looks great, Patrick. I'ts come a long way from when you first got it. The 1515 1Y is gonna make it rip - easily sixty-ish. Great basis for a wire drive/ball bearing strut; I love that setup in my Vegas. Keep the pictures coming

Thanks partner...I am going to run the outrunner for testing and see what I can do with it in this hull. Neu 1515 will be used when I get my 150a esc.
I would love to do a wire drive...I have only used .187 flex in all of my high power setups...to be honest, the wire drive/ball bearing strut is not something I have really even thought about until this last summer. Any pics of one? and wire diameter for a neu setup?. Thanks again...I will definately have pics to come, once it is actually running.

Patrick, as we've previously discussed, I have the same power in my H&M shovel & my Vegas. The H&M had a .187 installed when I got it, but I had a chance to choose the drive for the Vegas. I chose a Jeff Wohlt [ rcraceboat.com] .078 wire drive with Octura-style collet & ball bearing strut. I'm lovin' it; almost no parasitic driveline drag. Go to his site, e-mail him; He'll be glad to help set you up. Your boat will love you for it !
[tip: install the drive before attaching the motor mount to the hull so you can get the driveshaft perfectly centered in the collet ]

Get some inside shots of your setup when you can. Looks good. At least it's a decent size hull rather than a lot of the 'little' hydros out there right now. I just wish the H&M's weren't so pricey!

I will get some shots of the interior, this week. I agree...there are not enough 30-34" hydros being made. Strange, considering they are fast and can handle mild to aggressive water conditions.
