Just wondering what servo torque you guys are running, mine gave up today and just seeing what others use. It's for a tunnel setup as inboard, also a cat both in the 1m (40 inch I think). It's been asked a million times but just checking, got 2 motors TP Power one 6d the other 7d so timing set 0-10?

I use Futaba http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXRWS8&P=ML on my VS1 Tunnel, I had no choice, the boat was set up for a low profile servo, it performed flawlessly, but time will tell if it lasts. So far so good. For my two other tunnels I used Futaba S3005, in fact I use that on all my boats up to 33''. On my DF Sniper 45" I have a 1/4 sized Futaba servo. Don't remember the exact number. My tunnels are all out board and they demand a lot of torque. I have been recommended to this duo here at OSE:http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=ker-fs5617m, http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=ker-ft5515m, they both have MONSTER TORQUE ratings! I must say upon seeing one first hand, I was impressed with the built quality at least judging from the outside, unfortunately I haven't had a chance to use it, but the ratings by the maker is impressive and the price is reasonable.
I put a Hitec HS-645MG just the other day into my yet to maiden Insane 34 mono.
I like to have my servo torque rating at no less than 120 oz-in @ 6v, I couldn't care less with the speed, it is not a car, I think in the water that is of less importance, as far as I am concerned.
"D" wind motor timing is typically set low. 0-10 is good. Depending what choice your ESC gives you.Too many boats, not enough time...

I run the hitec 5646 WP in my cat and spartan they 179@ 7.4v wasnt sure if I should go more torque (This tunnel is inboard so doesnt have to turn motor and prop) Those fitec have some serious torque and they are great price. Only thing i want to run this boat tomorrow so its kinda what ever the LHS has (unless OSE does overnight postage to AUS
) I do like the 5646 being waterproof.
What's life if you ain't having fun

The 5646 is very good, only problem I had one time was that its case is just a hair larger than the average standard sized servo. Good luck at your LHS!
I am surprised that the low profiled Futaba had no trouble turning the OB though, the tunnel originally was fitted with a $15 low profiled servo, http://www.hobbypartz.com/33p-solarservo-d770.html but was making noise and I didn't want to cheap out so got a name brand, lol...
I have a feeling that the $15 servo is just as good if not better: it has more torque ratings, these days everything is made in China, so I am just flushing my hard earned money down the toilet...
