    Rudder servo?

I recently built a fantasm with a scale rudder. It seems to me that my servo may not be strong enough to do the push and pull with the cables. I'm using a hitech servo not sure what number. But it seems to me that it's slow. If I turn left or right it stays like that I need to move it back it doesn't go back by itself What servo should I get. I'm not looking to go crazy and spend a lot on a servo. I have more hobbie's to support lol. Can I get some ideas on what to get.

Shorten the servo horn so your cable are closer to the servo, it will have greater force closer to the center. Also look for binding in your rudder

Good servo, but determine if the servo is the issue first

I originally had short plastic 2 way horn on this servo and it was the same way it is with this horn maybe a little stronger. So I'm thinking buying a new servo and making the horn shorter.

You NEED to figure out where it's binding up. There is something defianately wrong in there if a 645 can't even bring it back to centre.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I agree. Although the op isn't telling us what he has tried. Is the rudder binding or is it a servo issue? Has he tested the servo itself? Has he tested the rudder itself by pulling the cables? I'm lost

If the servo is disconnected from the rudder. I can move the rudder with very little effort back and forth

Right, but that is holding the rudder and moving it? Have you tried moving the rudder via cable? Maybe the cables are binding?

I did it with the cables as well. Seems good. There is a little friction but much. Also did it with holding the rudder and moving it while it's connected to the servo. And it moves good no issues. Only when I use the servo to move the rudder it seems slow and weak. I think it's the servo I ordered a new one. Like the one I posted. I'm not sure where my old servo came from. Even with out the cables connected to the servo arm it doesn't go back to center by itself. So I'm sure it's the servo.
