Need a strong, inexpensive servo??

I have been using the $6.50 orange 51G MG servos, i have two of them
one spent it's life in an airboat, getting wet constantly (no waterproofing), and survived through to the winter where one day it was cold enough some leftover moisture turned to ice and cracked one of the IC's (don't remember if it was a FET or not), either that or it just got cold enough.
I repleced the electronics with one from a hitc servo with crapped gears, still going strong!
i plan on using a FC 1/8 servo for my next build (twin lynx) and will let you guys know how it turns out.

Can someone tell me what type of servo horns I can use with this (futaba, jr, hitec)

Saw those a while back but noticed many negative reviews. One important issue was it is not sealed and therefor not waterproof. Did want the cool alloy case but if it does not function all to well what is the point. Ended up with this for under $17. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...sec%5F52g.html. Had almost all 5 star reviews plus I found this which sold me. Look at the last page post #34 where he strips one down. The review start with EXI but did not fair so well and ends up with praise for the Turnigy. FYI. These are relabeled Blue Bird servos which actually have the same model number but go for $50.

The Turnigy 620 looks decent, it is waterproof, but it has only about 2/3rds of the torque compared to the MG959, and no ball bearings by the specs

Futaba If you're thinking about replacing the stock horn that comes with the servo (which is strong enough for most purposes) with a stronger metal one, think about this : if your rudder takes a whack strong enough to break the horn, let it. Better to break the horn [you get several with the servo] than strip the gears or some other internal damage. Just sayin'.....

That's a good shout, I was only asking as I am trying to "bling" up my build with red alloy bits and pieces.

Actually it has 2 silicone oil sealed bearings and 10.6kg/cm is way more than you will ever require in a boat. don't forget you are paying most of the price for the fancy aluminum case.
