I have this 3060 that I am thinking of putting into a new falcon cat 41 hull. The hull is very light at 3 pounds dry and I was curious if I should run 8s with this motor on go up to 10s and swing a smaller prop the higher rpm.

If you want to run 10 go with a 460 or so. I loved this motor on 8s with a large gas prop. Made the mistake of putting 10s in it with a 470 prop. was fast for a few laps and then Poof went the motor.

This motor I wouldn’t stress as much as my tp motor like you have. I actually have that same tp motor in an avenger 36 and I run x457/2 running mid 70s on 12s. Going to make a strut adjustment and try my abc 2315 on it for some more speed runs. I would definitely try that 2216 on 10s with that boat I am certain the motor can handle it hopefully your esc can.Originally posted by Bande1 View PostRun both. in fact try 12s also. I got a sprintcat 42 with an 850kv 5670 I swing between 8s, 10s, 12s. I use a 1715 on 12s, a prather S230 on 10s, and a 2216/3 on 8s

That is my biggest fear is cooking one of these motors for sure! Was yours the same wind as what I have? That’s very impressive that it swung those big props.Originally posted by photohoward1 View PostIf you want to run 10 go with a 460 or so. I loved this motor on 8s with a large gas prop. how many watts that setup pull? I got dual fans on the motor running a 1715 pulling 7kw.Originally posted by BlakeT View PostThis motor I wouldn’t stress as much as my tp motor like you have. You will cook it on 12s...guaranteed. They are finicky motors. If everything is not balanced and aligned perfect it will vibrate a blow the windings. Guaranteed.Originally posted by BlakeT View PostThat is my biggest fear is cooking one of these motors for sure! Was yours the same wind as what I have? I certainly won’t try it on 12s with this wind, I’m afraid to put 12s to my 10 wind already lol. To stick with low pitch props and usually octura so that is what I have done so far. I’m thinking of going 10s and trying a x455 octura and see how it goes.

3060's are tanks,
you wont blow one, maybe a esc but the motor is solid. i ran a 3060 1000kv in a mono on 10s, small ish prop and was around the 85mph mark
I have 6 3060 motors at the moment running them in 650kv up to 1000kv configs with 12 - 14s on them depending on the boat / goal.Hpr 06 / 09 / 150 /185, Mhz Skater H45 hydro.

vvviivvv, I have a TP 5670 990Kv running on 10S with ZTW 300 esc. I'm running around 73mph. Is there much more in this set up without burning the house down. Currently weighing in at 13lbs totally ready to go. Batteries, motor, and esc well within temperature range.
