Boat is a Kyosho Streamliner, used once, then put in storage about 10 years ago. Once a year or so, I'd check it, with it always running fine. However, a problem when I recently tried again. As soon as the battery's connected, the motor runs, independent of the transmitter. In other words, even with no batteries in the transmitter, it runs, will only stop by removing the boat battery. When on, (with batteries), the transmitter has no effect on power or steering. I've been unable to find any answer after searching, would appreciate any help! Thanks.

BEC (battery eliminator circuit) is bad or maybe Rx pack is bad or has tons of corrosion on the contacts. The main pack may not be going to full voltage and causing issues. Check all Rx wire connections and test the Rx switch if it has one.

WE need more information.
Does the boat have a separate battery for the receiver??
If not then we may assume it has a BEC.
Also you say that you have NO control on steering or motor.
Check your transmitter batteries.
If you plug in the main Boat battery that puts power to the motor without a signal from the transmitter, The motor may run.
