    Rebuilt NEU motors

What does NEU do to a motor to rebuild it? I can see replacing the rotor and bearings because of wear and loss of magnetic field perhaps but, what else can they do that I can't? You can't rewind the stack it can only be replaced but, that's about the same as buying a new one.

Some people just prefer not to meddle around in there but, it's not too hard if you know what you are doing or have practiced on cheaper smaller motors.

Pretty sure just replacing the stack, and at 50% retail, unless the motor was new, it may be worth buying a complete new motor. For example, my 1521 just let go after almost 3 seasons of abuse in a beater boat. 50% of retail is $147 to replace the stator, a new motor is $249 on here. If I replace the bearings I'm up to prob $167.......tough call....

Don't forget, you will get a "warranty" with a new motor. That may or may not be something of value to some.
