Is there a chart or something that can help picking the correct motor and esc for different size hulls? I'm a newbie and don't have a clue what to use.

Just as important as choosing the correct size motor is choosing the correct motor KV for the number of cells you plan on using. This chart is usefull in making that choice :

Also, if your motor is not listed you can just use this simple equation to determine the RPM unloaded of course. Take the motor KV and multiply with the number of total voltage you will be using. KV x Voltage = RPM unloaded. Example: 2060kv motor x 11.1v (3s) = 22,866 RPM.Originally posted by properchopper View PostKen,

All of these charts are helpful!! Been into FE for a couple of years now but still great to reference these. Thoroughly reading these charts will save you lots of heartache and smoking electronics. !! Dont get caught up in the thinking that higher rpm is faster top speed.....not always. If I can get my boats running 33,000 to 38,000 rpm unloaded....it seems to be the magic sweet spot. Then you can play with props and other tweaking!
